Hello Wandering! I have created a Fan Site for BM on Facebook. I was wondering if I could add your blog to the site? Please let me know if this will be ok.

    Thank you so much!

    By kevin 2 years ago

well, it is kind of sort of on the way to malibu. but you are right, i should maximize my gas money by going to little tokyo's daikokuya on the way back... i was pretty pleased with their OC raumen but heard LA's is even better from mentions of many blogs ... including yours.

...and oh yes, i am quite envious of kevin and tangbro's dining experiences....but i am also a fan of your blog.... i appreciate all of your reviews and tips.
    By t-bone 2 years ago
    hey wanderingchopstick:)

from your blog, I've decided to "drive up north" to give luscious dumpling a try. any additional tips? thanks for sharing!

Have you been/heard of a Japanese/French pastry shop in Torrence called Patisserie Chantilly? It's fantastic!!!!!! They have choux la a cremes that put Bearded Papa to shame.

    I enjoy your website:)
    By kevin 3 years ago
The menu sounds pretty good, though I have my concerns about the restuarant being more style than substance. I'm willing to try it out though. Will this be our next BM meet up perhaps?
    By Thngotiatr 3 years ago
    So... Is your cousin single?
    haha
    By aromagirl 3 years ago
I didn't. They didn't last long enough to even consider it. I thought about how you said you put them in pad see-ew so I cut them into noodles and mixed them with the leftover meat. SOOOOO YUMMY! They just soaked up the flavor of the sauce. Thanks for that great advice.
    By pleasurepalate 3 years ago
Wow, your home-made Korean bbq looked fantastic. I could tell you all had a fantastic meal. :)

As for Pa Pa Walk, the group as well as myself liked everything we ordered except the Taiwanese meatballs, which actually didn't look like meatballs at all. I was also disappointed in the mini pork buns. They just weren't juicy enough.

My personal favorite was the bread soup and deep-fried oysters. Yum!

hiya, i was reading your blog and you mentioned this place in one of your posts so here i am! just though i'd let you know that the entry that featured letters from your sister was real cute! and my sister feels the same way about my 'abandonment' too - although not with quite as much lovehearts and affection! ;) Sorry, not sure how long ago that entry was actually so this might seem completely random.

I reckon I should just stick to hi from now on.
    By crazypooh 3 years ago

    Hi Wanderingchopstick's,

Thanks for the Purple aloo gobi. I ate it tonight and it tasted very delicious. I mixed it with some of the really spicy chilly you gave me and the gobi was so so good.
    By UnHipLA 3 years ago
the pom you gave me was soooo delicious, crunchy and just the right sweetness. thank you! the aloe was quite slimy, actually fun to play with but a little hard to eat. i took pics will put it up one of these daze. the aloe was really pretty. i liked the texture, just not in my mouth. i made a drink with aloe, persimmon, lemon, and honey. it was pretty and good. i lick!

Thanks, WX. I admire your writing skill. I would really like to improve mine. Wouldn't it be nice to have both?

Yes. I occasionally receive compliments (from guys and girls). I would think it feels the same way as when you get compliments for your writing. :)

    Hi,

I fixed the spelling mistake on the email to friend page. "Seperate" is now spelled "Separate".

I've only been to Mastro's Ocean Club in Newport Coast. I was not impressed. The steakhouses in Costa Mesa and BH are said to be better. I'd say it's worth a shot though. Obviously my first choice is CUT. Ruth's Chris is my favorite of the big three chains. Ones I've wanted to try are Jar, Nick and Stef's, Dakota (at the Hollywood Roosevelt), and Boa.
    By UnHipLA 3 years ago
thx chops for the aloe info. i have recently gotten into drinking aloe but then i started to wonder if one could o'd on it. could it be too good to be true? it tastes so yummy. i bought 5 different brands of it and am doing a taste test with them. though no doubt real aloe sliced up would be the best.
    By UnHipLA 3 years ago
i'm not suggesting that you should know everything about food and beverages, but it sure does seem like u do...

Thanks for the tip! At $42, Tagine indeed represents the best value I've seen for a 7-course TM. Looks interesting too. I don't remember the last time I've had Moroccan, I'll keep it in mind.

Ah but if I work twice as long as I do now but earn four times as much, it'll still be worth it no? Besides, I'm already doing about 60hrs of "work" a week, taking into account both work and school. ;)

What does one do with an astronautical engineering degree? Not much!

Yes I'm definitely through with engineering. I'm looking to go into banking after graduation.
    By kevin 3 years ago
As I'm not a coffee drinker, alcohol will have to suffice for both needs. ;)

I'm done after this degree though, and my new work will probably be taking up all my time anyway!

    HI Wanderingchopsx,

I was recently on your blog and had a question about one of your recipes. The Indian butter chicken...for the coriander is it coriander dried? or coriander seeds grounded up? or coriander powder? I wanna try to making this.

    thanks

Yes, Seattle is fun. They have more of city life over there. There are lots of green leafy trees. I like that. In addition, I also enjoyed the airplane rides. One thing that I did not like about Seattle is its current cool temperature. Going there and coming back just makes me realize how much I take the fabulous weather here in SoCal for granted.
    By pekinese 3 years ago

Haha. It was not bad. I actually prefer the buffet style much better than the order-and-cross-your-figure style. However, one thing I have to say is that the flavor of their dishes is not as strong as the dishes from Clay Oven. I'd be happy to find something in between, if you know what I mean.

    By buddydvd 3 years ago
Oh my... good thing it was blurry and in black and white. I don't think I can look at it in full detail. You certainly have a daring friend. I don't even know what how "leathery" taste like... Makes me wonder if any restaurant in CA serves bat... crazy
    By buddydvd 3 years ago
Oh my, wings of a bat?! I would really like to know if there's anything your friend would not eat.
    By henrychan 3 years ago
ugghh... the WINGS of bats... the only worse is probably the feet (though they are strong)

    By buddydvd 3 years ago
Wow, I saw the comments you left on henrychan's profile. That's crazy you eat all those exotic foods. I don't think I can ever do that...
    By henrychan 3 years ago

    By henrychan 3 years ago
nice WC!! where did you eat all these exotics?
    By henrychan 3 years ago
