Hmm. Does not look good, but I think it might taste good. Incidentally using blood to thicken stews is common throughout the world. Some of the most clasic French dishes use this technique, as do some German and Eastern European dishes. And many Asian cuisines either use blood to thicken stews or soups or use cooked blood (often cubed) as an ingredient. Sounds sort of gross, but after all it's making use of all of the animal. And if you eat 'standard' cuts of meat you are eating some blood - and muscles, veins, etc. Umm.

I grew up eating Charneena (spelling guessed at) a Polish duck soup thickened with blood. It is sweet sour with fruit in it too. Very satisfying especially in the winter. Sorry no photo. I would have to kill a duck myself to recreate this!
