Bird's Nest Soup

9 lickslick itunlick FREE
Bird's nest soup stewed with rock sugar. The bird's nests are the highest quality from Vietnam, bought in Wan Chai District, Hong Kong for about $2,500 HKD for one tael. My mom makes me drink a bowl of this soup everyday. The bird's nest has the texture of bai mu'er or white snow fungus. According to the Chinese, bird's nests is suppose to provide energy, improve the metabolism of fat, stimulate the regeneration of cells, boost immunity, strengthen the body, moisturize the skin, and most importantly, maintain and enhance beauty. So far, I haven't experienced any of the supposed health benefits to discern whether or not the bird's nests are making a discernible difference.

One bowl everyday! My wife will envy you very much. I wish I could afford that and she will be a happier wife. :-) For me, Bird nest gives me acid reflux. i.e. stomach acid flowing backward, gives me heart burn and wakes me up in the middle of the night.

Due to my own reaction, I do believe something in the bird nest would affect the digestive system and increase appetite. My kids were premature babies, my wife fed them the bird nest once in awhile whenever they were not eating much. She swore by the benefits and that justified the big hole at the bottom of my wallet.

My kids are no longer babies and also we cut down the purchase after the news about the bird flu. My philosophy is that if there is a health risk, we should not pay so much for it. :-)

I represent my kids and gave this a lick.
