Hi MamaGrub, the hot broth will cook the beef so it won't be rare anymore.

Chops - what is your fave VN restaurant in the area?

Depends on what dish you're craving. And depends on if I crave it enough to drive down to Little Saigon for the better version. But I get plenty enough VNese food at home. :)
Are you looking for a recommendation for something in particular?

nope, i was just wondering if there was an all-around winner. i am not so wowed by golden deli either. i love VN food bc it seems so healthy, in addition to being tasty.

Heh, if you read my Golden Deli post, there's a funny little anecdote about how these girls didn't know how to use rice paper and weren't really receptive to my attempts to explain either. So if their fans are people who really aren't familiar with VNese food, what does that say?
Actually, I think the VNese food scene in SGV is just starting to really take off. I remember just a few years back when there weren't that many good options so I never dined out for VNese food around here at all.

I agree! Depends on what dish you're ordering. I would go to Orange County to have 7 courses of beef...I've taste two around in this area and it was ok only.

hey wanderingchopsticks...I just get my business card holders from my car!(I collect business cards couple years ago..hee) I like the "Pag 7 Lac" on Brookhurst St. in Westminster. Those 2 that I tried of the 7 courses of beef were "Pho Pasteur Vietnamese Restaurant" on 8821 E. Valley Blvd. and the one on Las Tunas (Across from Golden Deli...same owner?) I was surprised they have 7 courses of beef (the one on Las Tunas).
I've tried it couple months ago.
Pho Pasteur was better than the one across Golden Deli though. I always mix up w/ the Vietnamese Restaurants' names...such as Tuong Ky Noodle Restaurant, Pho Gia Long, LA Pho 97, Pho Bolsa, Quan Hop, etc. Still, I know the location though. =D

I like Pagolac for 7 courses of beef. I'd much rather do 8 courses of fish though. Seems healthier to me. :)
You're thinking of Vietnam House? That's supposed to be the place to go in SGV for that. I just noticed the other day that Pho 79 was offering it too. And on Valley, there's Anh Hong 7 courses of Beef.
My friend likes Pho Pasteur's bun bo Hue.

nice method of collecting business cards. do you use them to keep track of where to go eat? we're thinking of building the "to eat" feature, where you can keep a list of where you wanna go eat.
I've been to pho pasteur but i haven't tried the 7 courses. I must go try :) thanks for sharing!

Thanks! It's easier for me to think of a restaurant when I'm hungry!!!! we always tired to think of any restaurants (except the new ones)
I use them to keep track of where to go eat.
it's always good to have "to eat" feature...That's cooL... thanks!!
Hey, btw, you should try Anh Hong's 7 courses of beef! It's delicious! I think I mixed up w/ the names of "Pho Pasteur" and "Anh Hong"...haha *_* (fainting)
