By wanderingchopsticks 3 years ago It's napa cabbage. And it helps keep the dumpling from sticking to the steamer so it doesn't break and the juices run out. I scoop it all up.

By pekinese 3 years ago Now days, a lot of places, even J&J restaurant are just using the paper to hold the "shao long bao". I prefer lettuce much better and it is definitely more authentic too.
