The lighting was pretty good. Did you use the flash? My old camera was a SONY Cybershot DSC-P9. I switch to a Canon SD800IS recently. One thing I missed from the SONY was its ability to set the flash at lower intensity when I take close up picture. I couldn't find the same setting on my new Canon. Often the flash turns out to be too strong and white wash the pictures.

you can't adjust the flash, but you can change the settings for the particular scenario

hehe...thx! what I do is set the flash at slow synchro so it won't be too strong.

I haven't been here in years...what have I been thinking? Truly gorgeous fish! There's been a bit of grumbling on Chowhound about this place--they say it's overrated (I'd always had a great experience there, but definitely expensive for dinner). They mentioned a place across the street (on the same side but by the American Apparel and the yakitori restaurant, with, I think, mirrored windows)--anyone been to that one?

Are you thinking of Sushi Komasa? I saw quite a crowd while I was dining at Izakaya Haru Ulala. Never been though.

How long did you have to wait before you were seated? I hear it gets really busy during lunch hours.
Your response:

To avoid the long waits, you should go there before 11:30 or after 1:30. We waited about 10 mins before we were seated. :)

Wow I wish we had portions of Sashimi like this in Toronto.
All we get is thin slices at expensive prices. The ocean must be nice to be close to.
