I liked my panchan better. I had clams in my kimchee. :)

Panchan or banchan are all the little side dishes. How can you eat and not learn names of foods?

I came here with two friends. They don't know this. The menu doesn't state this. The waitress doesn't tell us this. How about you? How did you learn its name?

Don't remember. Probably came from eating with someone who knew what they were called and they taught me. That's how I learn about most foods. :)

Ah... my dining buddies are as clueless as me. We just eat whatever we find in Irvine... I will be more attentive about these details in the future.

You are correct. I would prefer a deboned version, but I know that would lose all of its taste. Oh well, if I crave fish, I'll just go to California Fish Grill. One of their unique selling proposition is "all fish are deboned!"

Maybe they're tiny oysters, but they tasted more like clams. I always think it's special when they add that in.
For the most panchan, I usually go to Seol Ak San in Stanton. There's always at least 13, sometimes 15 different panchan.
