- 1 lick By barryc 12 months ago actually, pineapple enzymes break down protein & make meat mushy in texture - that's why you don't (or shouldn't) see pineapple next to any meats on the buffet.

looks like spicy tuna, asparagus, and who know what on top. separately, those ingredients might be tasty, but not thrown together like that! ugh!
