    Hey Henry, is there a way to enter the price as a currency other than dollar? Some of my posts are from Japan and I think it would be cool if for example, I could enter the price as yen and have it also show the conversion to dollar. Just a suggestion, but I'm sure you're already working on something like that.

    henry! my mom says @ the restaurant a lot of ppl order the beef tendon's soft part (the jelly.) My personal preference is that I only like eating the rubbery skin and the meat itself. What's yours? :)

    Henry,

    I am always amazed by the number of pictures you uploaded. For example, you uploaded a dozen dishes from Minx's Restaurant just moments ago. Do you dine with a dozen friends all the time? Or do you just stand in front of the kitchen and intercept each dish coming out of it? I don't believe you can eat that much by yourself.

    I have been uploading old pictures from years ago. After that, my sources will dry up. I cannot imagine posting 3000 pictures like you did.

    Keep it up. No one can catch up anyway.

    from when i type in BM, there is a slight pause then everything loads at once in 3 seconds, maybe shorter. it's very fast. my sister has comcast and an excellent connection. i have to use explorer to open BM. it did not work with firefox; i think bc of how my sister sets up her preferences. hope this helps. sleep time for me now. zzzz

    B/c of your Smurf picture, I dreamt that you guys were trying to make all our profile pics 3-D. Geez! I need a BM breather or something!

    Did you know one of my cousins is out of town for the summer, and b/c I was out of town too, she missed me. So instead of calling me or emailing me, she joined BM and sure enough, saw me uploading? Ack?! Is there a support group for this kind of addiction?

    Henry, You know I've eaten at some of the places mentioned in that book? Namely Cha Ca La Vong (Hanoi turmeric snakehead fish with dill). It's so famous that the street in Hanoi is named Cha Ca for the dish. :)

    BTW, You also forgot that your shrimp cheong fun video got me to go to Yum Cha Cafe. After I showed it to my little sister, she insisted we go the next day. And we did. And after I showed it to my cousin, she wanted to go too. And she showed it to her brother, who also wanted to go. It's the best shrimp cheong fun ever!

    yeah! salsa is awesome. i get to go every friday. i do a lot of ballroom dance these days, and also ballet, modern, bharatanatyam (an indian classical dance), jazz, hula...and some dabbling in other stuff like flamenco, sevillanas, balinese dance, and i don't know what else...anything i can get into!

    i don't have a meal plan, so I just depend on what's around UCI (which is pretty good) or whatever I can cook up at home.

    Can't say I really miss pippen food though,but it was nice to always have a selection of ice cream available after dinner ;)

    today i had a business meeting at disney in burbank. we took the customer out to lunch. We were standing around their office figuring out what to eat and their boss said, "well since i have a meeting in 2 hours, let's go somewhere close by. he picked a sushi place that was about 10 mins away. we took two cars with one of his employees pointing out the directions to us." it seemed like he decided on sushi on the whim, but also the other dude was on a diet...

    Ok, so we seperated out HomeCooking/Restaurant Food because some people are only interested in Restaurant food and some home cooking. We also have an option to view all, which is my personal preference. I personally enjoy cooking and just seeing a variety of food from everywhere because it increases my knowledge of food and it also gives me ideas on what to cook. one day i'll be a chef... let me know if you have thoughts on this feature... :p

    Henry, Had dinner with a friend tonight and while she was in Indonesia she ate dog, rat, and bat. Bat! Wings too! Said the meat tasted really gamey like goat. Wings were leathery like jerky.

    I'm pretty adventurous but I don't think I can handle that!

    Travels.
    Scotland - haggis, deep-fried Mars bars
    Australia - kangaroo, emu (both sort of taste like beef), crocodile (tastes like chicken)
    Norway - reindeer (beef-like), whale, seal (sort of blubbery and fatty)
    My dad's a hunter so the venison and deer brains, and elk came from him.

    BTW, Phong Dinh in Rosemead specializes in exotic meats. I saw fox on the menu too but haven't tried that. And the French still eat horse but I haven't tried that either. And I refused to eat dog in North Vietnam.

    I grew up on sour fishhead soup. Those are the best fish eyeballs. :)

    There's a big difference between having tried something once and actually liking it. :P Let's see, I've also eaten reindeer, kangaroo, crocodile, and emu. But I prefer to eat dumplings. :)

    When I was little, I made eating hot vit lon into a whole game. Start with the little wings, maybe the legs, then the head, then I'd eat the rest of it. These days, I can't bring myself to bite the poor little ducklings. :(

    Do you eat fish eyeballs? When I was little, my brother and I used to fight over who got to eat the eyeballs. These days, we put it on each other's bowls as a reminder of childhood.

    Aside from tiec canh (Vietnamese raw congealed duck blood), you can't gross me out. Have you eaten haggis? Scottish innards and oats cooked inside a sheep's stomach? Whale? Deer brains? I've eaten them all.

    Bittermelon is bitter. I can't eat it. But I eat intestines and steamed blood cubes, isn't that adventurous enough? :)

    In light of the upcoming holidays, we are hoping to get a large group together to help package and distribute food to those in our community who are less fortunate.     Background: One Voice LA is a non-profit organization serving low income families in the community. They host an annual food giveaway and invite One Voice families to pick up food so they are able to provide their families with a complete meal for the holidays.



    One Voice will provide food to approximately 12,500 people this holiday season. The event will take place from December 14 -17.



    Details: One Voice depends on their volunteers to sort and package food into boxes and load them onto trucks. Volunteers take 3 days to prepare for the big distribution day on Sunday. On the day of the distribution, One Voice families pick up their food (turkeys, potatoes, beans etc.) while their kids tell Santa what they want for the holidays and walk away with toys. Food is distributed based on the size of families so a family of 4 might get one box of food with one turkey whereas a family of 7 might get 2 boxes of food with 2 turkeys.



    This organization needs your help in both packaging and distributing food to the families.
