i haven't been to the santa monica location, but from what i've been told, the culver city location is like 3x larger (which means it still isn't that big). i was able to get a table, but only because i was the last person in the group (of 7) to show up, heh...
apologies for buttin' in here...but havin' been to the counter quite a few times for lunch/dinner (it's REALLY close to my place of work), you basically mark what you want on the form/menu that's on a clipboard and they'll eventually bring you the finished burger. for the record, i've always been annoyed that they don't have a teriyaki-type sauce (the ginger soy glaze is the closest thing)...http://www.thecounterburger.com/menu/
so...are these "beer crackers" actually just peanuts? cuz they sure look like peanuts in that "star" shape...maybe peanut-shaped crackers?
hmmm...i think i ended up payin' something like $35 total (after tax and tip)? i had a beer as well...but i don't recall specifically what the price of just the beef short rib plate costed...sorry... =(
the scorpions themselves didn't really taste like much, aside from the "exoskeleton-ey" texture, it just tasted like a fried tofu-ish fishcake-y flavor (and of course the sweet & sour sauce). i gotta say, i was sorta disappointed...
sorry...it was my cousin-in-law that did all the cookin'...so i gots nothing for ya...
mmm...looks absolutely delish! =P
yeah, i love unagi as well. and i would love to eat sushi w/ you sometime...but...you're kinda...far away...heh.
