Is organic salmon similar to wild-caught salmon as opposed to farm-raised salmon, or is organic salmon considered in a separate class of it's own (being a unique specialty)? Was this Pacific or Atlantic salmon? According to my knowledge, the majority of Atlantic salmon are farmed and raised, mainly in South American countries such as Chile, since the original Atlantic salmon species are extinct in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Seems ironic that Atlantic salmon are now "farmed" and found only in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. As for wild-caught salmon, my family's only had the pleasure and opportunity to consume Pacific salmon caught in the waters of the American River near Sacramento, when the salmon are caught during their annual migration to reproduce. :) I never heard of organic salmon before; how interesting!
Jasmine blossoms are so beautiful and jasmine tea is so wonderfully fragrant!! My grandfather drinks an herbal infusion of jasmine and Oolong tea daily; he claims that daily consumption of jasmine tea is an effective remedy against sore throat and beneficial to the lungs especially if one is a heavy smoker.
Wow!! $12 dollars for such a pitifully looking and sized quiche is too expensive! The only quiche I'll probably ever pay $12 dollars for is misshana's delectable looking Quiche Lorraine! ;p http://biggestmenu ... nthal-Chees-53979
Fun Food "Fact": According to my mother, pork hock soup is a very nutritious, traditional Chinese tonic soup given to women, especially new nursing mothers, to consume to help restore their health and stimulate their immune systems! :)
Henry, you're making an ABC girl very "homesick" for Hong Kong with an excessively nostalgic yearning and craving for "authentic" Cantonese cuisine that can only be found in Hong Kong!!! I must soon return to the "motherland!!" ;p
Wow!! Endless shrimp!!! How much shrimp were you able to consume, David? Hopefully, you were able to eat either your weight in shrimp or at least your money's worth!! ;p
Hi crazypooh! :) I usually make blood orange juice from the Tarocco blood oranges without the orange rind. The essential oils from the rind drastically shortens the shelf life of the orange juice. To best preserve the nutritional content of the blood oranges, especially the anthocyanin levels, I almost always juice the oranges rindless, and the resulting juice usually has a long shelf life of a single month to a month and a half, and much longer if frozen. The Tarocco blood orange tree supplies me annually with over 4 months of fruit, beginning in mid-December to late April/early May with weekly harvestings of 20-25 pounds of fruit. If you ever want to try the Tarocco blood oranges, you're always welcome to come and pick from my tree when it's in season! :)
Thank you, clemlam, for providing another great restaurant option for "mini fries"! Not only is Alberto's Mexican Food closer in distance, the price is also much more affordable! Beans are a healthier substitution as well, unless they're refried beans!! :)
My carnivorous friends says, "This is a awesome, healthy dish! It has meat and vegetables!" LOL. Somehow, I think my friends were referring to the potato french fries rather than the lycopene-rich tomatoes as their serving of vegetable! ;p
Wow!! Dessert topped with 24k edible Gold is very generous, considering that an ounce of gold is currently trading at over $900! :)
LOL. Yes, I totally agree that it's extreme inflation when the price has more than doubled! This meal was only "licked" because it's the last time "Mini Fries" will ever be ordered or eaten again!
Joel, your photo of the red cabbage is certainly beautiful! :) It would truly be a shame if Henry, Pong, or buddydvd removed it. Decorative cabbage were created for ornamental purposes rather than for consumption, but they are just as beautiful, perhaps even more so than regular, edible cabbage. I'm very sure the "staff" of Biggest Menu are appreciative of your beautiful photo....it's interesting, unique, and new. I, myself, have posted photos of "inedible" fruits...like that of Buddha's Hand aka the fingered citron. http://biggestmenu ... s-of-Citrus-47168
